THE
HART LAB

Welcome to Professor Andersen's Health Adaptation Research on Trauma (HART) Lab at the University of Toronto Mississauga.

Our research explores how people adapt, recover, grow, and thrive in the face of life's challenges. We investigate the biological, psychological, and social processes that support resilience, health, well-being, and joyful living across the lifespan, including in the context of severe and chronic stress, trauma, and burnout.

As a fully ambulatory psychophysiology lab, we measure biological, psychological, and social processes in real time and in real-world settings, providing a richer understanding of how people build and sustain health and well-being in everyday life.
